Top 5 Ways to Celebrate Bonfire Night With Children at Home

November 03, 2020

As most of us are unable to celebrate bonfire night as we usually would, here at First Steps nursery Market Deeping, we’ve decided to come up with fun and creative ways to celebrate this 5th November at home with your children.

1. Sparklers

A classic for bonfire night, sparklers are a great form of entertainment for your little ones. Even if you don’t have a garden space, you can buy indoor sparklers which are great for putting on cakes. Just remember to always supervise children, keep sparklers at arm’s length, and put them into a bucket of cold water once they’ve gone out.

2. Room With a View

If you live on higher ground or have good views from your windows, chances are you will be able to watch some DIY firework displays from the comfort of your own home. Simply turn out the lights and watch all the beautiful, bright colours light up the sky outside.

3. Evening Walk

Alternatively you could go on a night walk to a local hillside and look out for fireworks. You could even turn it into a fun game of who can spot the first firework.

4. Make Tasty Treats

Whether you fancy making some traditional American s’mores, some warming hot chocolate, or even chocolate coated apples – there are tonnes of tasty treats to try this bonfire night. If you’re feeling really adventurous you could even have a bonfire themed bake-off contest.

5.Get Crafty

Let their creativity run wild by having a crafts evening. Whether your children enjoy drawing pictures, painting, or creating collages, bonfire night is a great theme for their creative projects.
