Nursery for ages 3-4
Our preschool room is a hive of activity every day. The day is organised and planned in advance to provide all children with developmentally appropriate activities.
1 to 8 ratio
The Dragonflies have the use of 2 rooms to play in. The larger main Dragonflies room is where you will find the children’s cloakroom area. Each child has a named peg to hang their coats on and a shoe bag for their shoes. We have role play, toys and craft freely available. The staff plan activities considering observations they have made with the children. For example, a child may have gone on a train journey and share their enthusiasm about this. We would then look at extending this, sharing it with the whole class using the subject of trains journeys to explore modes of transport, places to visit and what happens on the journey. The smaller room is named our Discovery Room. This is where we do more focussed play and learning with the children normally taking them here in smaller groups. Much of the learning and play within is around language and numbers. Or it could be that the children are doing cookery here or even a session with a trained hairstylist which the children recently enjoyed. Our main aim is to ensure our children are happy, confident and school ready.
We also have rooms in our nursery for children aged both 2-3 and 3-4 to continue with their growth and development in the same setting.
