May 2016- Children have been planting in our new allotment. A huge thank you to those parents who have donated vegetable plants for us to grow.
On Monday 16th June Our children thoroughly enjoyed a visit from four baby chicks.
Maxey Summer Fayre Saturday 18th June 2016 1pm until 4oclock –Thank you all who helped on the day and brought play dough from our stall.
Come and support our stall at Maxey’s Summer Fayre!!! First Steps Nursery will be selling home-made playdough.

The Summer Fayre is run by The Maxey Community Association with the assistance of Maxey Parish Council. Any money raised goes directly back to the Maxey Villagers and helps towards the upkeep of the Village Hall.
We really need your support to make this day a success so please come along and join in. Bring as many family and friends as possible, the more the merrier!!!

August 2016- Our children and staff participated in making mini rafts for the Deeping children’s raft race. We are proud to announce we were the winners of the race.
Our children enjoyed a fancy dress Halloween themed party here at nursery.
November 2016- We remembered all those who have served in the Armed Forces, past and present, and honor their service and sacrifice.
December 2016-All the children here at nursery are very excited to hear we are having a visit from Father Christmas this year.
January 2017- Here at First Steps we are looking forward to celebrating Chinese New Year.
March 2017-Our children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character to celebrate World Book Day. Each child received a national book token
Having fun celebrating St. Patricks Day!
Red Nose Day Appeal. The children enjoyed making cakes to sell. Parents supported this appeal by dressing their children in red and donating £1. A special thank you to Lynn from our butterfly room who donated a cake for our raffle.
April 2017- This year we are delighted to be taking part again in the Deeping raft race. We will be hosting a quiet play area for children in the Market Deeping Community Centre. Other activities available to join in with, pony rides, bouncy castles, fair ground rides and much, much more! Please do come and see us after the main race.
May 2107- ‘Before’ pictures of the work we are having carried out on our Bumble Bee unit to replace wooden cladding.

June 2017-
We are all excited and looking forward to participating in this years ‘Toddle Waddle’ with our children and their families. We will be leaving Nursery at 9.15am on Thursday 29th June to make our way around the village of Maxey. Don’t forget to come dressed in your bright colours to support this years theme. Thank you to all of our parents and grandparents who visited us on the day to support us with our walk. The weather held out for us, we all had a lovely walk! We have displayed our photo’s within our nursery of our walk.
July 2107-
A very successful sports day and family picnic. All children and parents participated in races. Lots of fun and excitement had by all. Thank you again to all the parents and extended family members for joining us.
August 2017-
We had a fantastic time joining in with this years raft race in Market Deeping. Lots of children came to visit us in the local community centre. Thank you to everyone who made the day an enjoyable one!
Well done to our wonderful cook Sue, who recently helped the nursery to gain our 5* food hygiene rating! We are proud to be able to say that our food hygiene standards continue to remain high!
September 2017-
First Steps Open Day! Saturday 9th September 2017 10am until 2pm.
The weather was good, and we had a good turnout of parents, grandparents, and children. Many thanks to Neil for arriving in the police van, Liam for showing us his fantastic truck, and to Sarah for bringing Nellie the pony. Thanks also to Emily for bringing her cards, and Ros for sharing her sewing skills with us. The animals and paint a pot were a big success. Many thanks to the staff for working on a Saturday.
First Steps Macmillan Coffee Morning! Friday 29th September 2017 10am until 11am. All welcome-Please pop in for a cuppa and cake.
October 2107- This Halloween we are excited to be part of the ‘Deepings Pumpkin Carving Competition’. We are also having a fancy dress Halloween party at nursery for our children which is planned for Tuesday 31st October.
