The Nursery aims to provide a high quality day care service for families with children 6 weeks to 5 years of age, and is registered by Ofsted to provide full day care for 54 children.
The Nursery is run and managed by Owner Amarjit Kaur, Manager Sarah Owen and Deputy Manager Rachael Canham.
At First Steps Nursery the staff are a friendly, caring and dedicated team that come from a variety of backgrounds. Most have gained their NNEB qualifications or equivalent, others have had many years experience of working with children. Staff professional certificates are displayed in the Nursery. All the staff will have clearance checks carried out by Ofsted and are recruited in line with our Equal Opportunities policy. They are encouraged to participate in regular training workshops, to keep up to date with developments in child care and nursery practises. All staff have a First Aid and Food Hygiene Certificate. The Nursery has regular staff and team meetings to review and update practices. We offer support to our staff through regular appraisals. It will not always be possible to have the same member of staff available at both 8am and 6pm, as staff work different shifts to accommodate the length of the day we are open.
